iphone-malaysia

Yesterday Steve Jobs announced the much anticipated second version of the iPhone officially called iPhone 3G. Most important feature of course was the 3G connectivity which means faster internet connections.

One attraction is the price is quite low at USD 199 and USD 299 for the 8Gb and 16Gb model respectively. But that’s the pirce in America and that’s tied to a one year subscription plan. Unsubsidised price should be much higher than that.

The minus is that Malaysia is not one of the countries slated to get the iPhone from June 11 onwards. Even Singapore is part of the list of 70 countries. Many less developed African countries are also getting the iPhone. I wonder why Malaysia was left out. Makes us feel like second class world citizens doesn’t it?
