image Baidu is the leading Chinese language search engine. It’s so big that it currently ranks as the third biggest search engine worldwide beating out Micosoft search. Baidu started in 2000 by Robin Li and Eric Xu.

So it doesn’t hurt to submit to Baidu and gain additional traffic from Chinese speaking visitors.

But this site is not in Chinese!

Yes I admit the contents here is not in Chinese However Baidu does except English content sites and China is promoting English in a big way with the 2008 Beijing Olympics coming up. The good thing is that submitting your site to Baidu is very easy even if you don’t understand Chinese in the submit page.

Here’s what I did:

1. Go to http://www.baidu.com/search/url_submit.html

2. You’ll see the following screen.

Just enter your URL and the verification code.

3. Click on the button image to submit .

You’ll see the following screen and that’s it!

Baidu will send it’s bot to crawl your website in no time.
