I thought only Microsoft was sneaky when they first pushed out IE 7 as a “security update” to users.

Apple goes one up here. I have iTunes installed to sync songs to my iPod. However, I’ve never ever used the Safari browser.

Today I got this popup for an Apple Software update.

The “Install” option is already checked by default. I wonder what has a Safari browser has to do with my iTunes? Totally sneaky, Apple.

Safari for Windows is the fastest and easiest-to-use web browser for the PC.  It displays web pages faster than any other browser and is filled with innovative features — all delivered in an efficient and elegant user interface.

Yeah right. If it’s ok with you I’ll stick with Flock, Opera and FireFox as my main browsers.

I can imagine many iTunes subscribers like me who won’t take a second look and just click on Install not knowing that they will get a new browser installed. I know I usually choose the update option without much thought as I want the latest iTunes to be installed.
