Tai Chi blogging
That’s what it feels like when I blog without pinging PetalingStreet.org. There is no rush. No anxiousness in finding out how much traffic you will get for that one ping. You learn to be calm and concentrate on smaller gains.
Here’s the initial few days without PPS pings.
Here’s after a week of practicing ‘tai chi’
The last 3 days was nice as I hit 50 visitor mark once and had two instance of 49 visitors. I am satisfied as it shows that traffic doesn’t fall down to drastically after I stopped pinging PPS.
Of course compared to my traffic competitor the 2superheroes, this is roughly half their traffic. But it’s nice to know that the base number of visitors can be increased in other ways like going back to your old posts and adding or improving the content. Of course, the other common method is to be an active blog community member and leave blog comments on other blogs.
As far as I’m concerned the 7 day trial to hit 50 visitors is successful and I can go back to pinging PPS (tomorrow onwards) as well as continuing my efforts in improving organic traffic.

Andrew, so how it is going with your experiment now?

It’s only for one week and it’s over.
After I started pinging PPS, my traffic has gone over 50 so I have no way of knowing what was by “base number” of visitors. That’s the reason I stopped pining PPS to see if I can increase the base to 50 without pings.
In short, experiment was a success but requires effort to maintain and increase base traffic.
