Dell Notebook (640M) Battery "end of life"
Your battery is able to charge normally, however it is reaching the end of its usable life.
That’s the message I’m seeing everytime I bootup my Dell 640m notebook. I bought this notebook just over a year (14 months to be precise).
Dang it! The battery used to last almost 2 hours with WiFi on. Now it’s just over an hour
So how about you? Is your notebook battery giving you the same message?
Since I’m running on main power most of the time, I guess it’s ok. Should have listened to a friend of mine who bought the same notebook at almost the same time. He always removed the battery and ran on mains. I’m sure his battery is still brand new

I didn’t know that any batteries actually displayed a message like that. I wish it would’ve done that to me instead of just failing at the worst possible time…. when I didn’t have my backup cord. ouch.

I should have just taken the battery out when running on mains.

No you are mistaken. It’s not the usual battery is low message. It just means my battery don’t keep as much charge even after being fully charged. Now it’s down to only 45 minutes with WiFi on
