I once went for an interview for the post of web developer. Upon arrival, the interviewer asked for my portfolios which in return I responded with a “Huh?”.

Apparently they were looking for someone with creative and design skills which I sadly lack. I told them I’m only familiar with PHP, Java and C programming. They wanted someone with Photoshop and Flash skills. It then became clear it was a misunderstanding in job descriptions. They were looking for a web designer not a web developer !

There is a difference you know.

The last few days I’ve been trying to fix my sidebar so that it can fit the large 336 width ad by nuffnang but each change screwed up the entire design. I managed to increase the overall sidebar width so the ad can fit in but the sidebar “red” background doesn’t want to take up the additional whitespace. It should be a simple matter right of setting one of the width right? But it’s not a simple matter.

At one time, the sidebar would “fall” down to the footer. I GIVE UP !!! .  In times like these I wish I was a web designer instead of a web developer.  :(
