My first ad placement
Just as soon as I blog about concentrating more on my chess website, I got an advertiser wanting to take an ad space from my GilaChess.com website.
I have never got an advertiser approaching me directly for an ad placement. All this while it was thru Nuffnang.
I really did not expect that and don’t know what to charge for it so I set the price equal to what Nuffnang was paying me for their ads (when they had advertisers for me). I am also happy that this ad is chess related.
The ad placement is going to be for 3 months and it will be a 160 width sidebar. I’m writing an ad clicker tracker to track the number of clicks daily for the advertisers. Although it was not something asked for, I thought that would be useful for future advertisers when they bought ad space from me.
I won’t disclose how much was paid but it not a big amount. Suffice to say it’s enough to pay for my one year webhosting fees. 
Since it’s my first advertiser I thought I shouldn’t charge too expensive. I’ll probably have to work out the plans to charge for different ad sizes and position and place it on an “About” page or something later.

No I didn’t say it would be a WordPress plugin. I’m writing a simple PHP custom script to do that. But now that you mentioned it, it wouldn’t be too difficult to convert it to a plugin.
Let me finish writing the script first and see if it is possible to convert it to a WordPress plugin.

Not sifu la..I’m so rusty with PHP. This will be my fist PHP code since I left DFS. You should be more familiar than me after swimming in PHP for months now
