Failure after 2 months
I tried to optimise and place Advertlets into more websites that have more ‘international’ readers but to no avail. One month of trial still results in disappointing earnings. I guess it’s a relative thing. Two months ago I was getting an average of RM 2-3 a day. Last month’s earning is exactly 10x LESS than it was. Was it a fluke that it went up for one month? I guess Advertlets is adjusting it’s CPM and lowered it tremendously to balance out the cost/profit.

Click Fraud?
It seems that they also facing some click fraud and impression fraud, 5xmom highlighted that some bloggers were not getting paid because of allegations of fraudulent clicks and I read that it has been resolved. However, that doesn’t make me feel any better that some people are trying to game the system while I’m still earning peanuts.

I will persevere
Despite this I’ll continue experimenting. I have an international chess event coming up soon, and I’ll be getting an increase in International traffic for a week or so. It’s the best time to place Advertlets ads in my chess blog to see if Josh Lim’s tip on getting more income from international exposure is effective.

I’ll report back on this in about 10 days time.
