Zerofied blogs - What to do?
Ok after all the Google name calling and criticism about Google PR slapping PPP blogs there’s no denying the sad fact that it’s hard to live with a PR 0 blog. There’s also little chance that Google will give back the PRs to paid post bloggers. I’m so disheartened that I can’t even bare to look at my PR 0 blog on my browser.
This is can’t go on anymore. I have to do something about this.
Say sorry to Google
I will ask for forgiveness and submit for reconsideration using the Google Webmaster tools. However since I still have some posts not paid yet I will have to wait about 30 days before I can delete all of them. So by next year my blogs will be clean of paid posts. So far the stories I heard about the reconsideration process is positive. All those who submitted got back their PRs.
Why?
I need to do this as one of my blog is PR4 with lots of linkbacks from Google. Although Google have not de-indexed my blog (horrors!), I can’t help feeling that this PR 0 punishment is just a warning shot. I believe continuing on with paid post will have me delisted totally from Google’s index like what happened to John Chow.
That’s right Google. I give up. You win.
So what are you going to do? Ask for forgiveness too? Or carry on with RealRank and Izea?

Hello Andrew. I found your post from 5xmom’s site. The same thing happened to me. I had a PR 4, that got reduced to a 2 and now a zero. It took me a second to figure out what I did wrong but now it’s pretty obvious and I’ve deleted all of the posts. And put in my reconsideration request to Google. Don’t let the zero get you down. Mine bothers me too. And by the way we are using the same theme. So you must have good taste. Best of Luck.

alamak.. yeah maybe you can clear one of your blog off paid posts..
But what really concern me is what will google do in the future? are they going to de-index all these blogs? or just that these blogs are left with pr0? hmm.. if de-index that’s really extreme.. and i’ll also consider removing all the paid posts and convert my sites into something else.. but other than that, i just sit down and …… dunno what oso..

@Emma
What a coincidence. My other blog went down from 4 to 2 then 2 to 0 just like you.
I can’t believe we are also using the same theme. However I’ve hacked mine to take away the Ajax header loading thingy. I found it too slow at times.
I checked out your blog and did you write paid posts before? I found no trace of it.
@Michael
It’s just a fear of mine. Maybe I’m just irrational. Still, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

I’m seeing some site have been unranked.. i wonder what it means.. like adesblog.com a PR7 reduced to 0
and now unranked.. this really concerns me lah

I think you are getting erroneous info. I checked using my FireFox SEO plugin and it shows AdesBlog as PR5. Don’t give Ades a heart attack lah

Why not just nofollow the links in the posts instead of deleting them?
November 19th, 2007 at 11:12 pm
Yeah I thought of that too. But decided that:
1. Deleting would be faster than searching for the links and editing it with a no follow.
2. Paranoia - the rumours are that Google is looking for keywords like “sponsored by”, “PPP”, “this post brought to you by” etc to recognize that as paid posts. Safer to just delete in it’s entirety.
3. Easier to come out with an SQL statement to mass delete by finding the keywords *sponsored* and category “Sponsored” in my blog.

Hey Andrew. When I got reduced to a 2 I added no follow to the PPP posts that I had already been paid for. With plans to add no follow as all of my remaining post hit 30 days and not to do anymore.
But then when I got reduced to zero I decided just to delete the PPP posts altogether. Then I read that anything PPP related would be a red flag to Google. I went back and even deleted my posts explaining what happened and alluding to PPP in any way.
So to answer your question, Yes I had 12 paid posts but I’ve since deleted all of them and anything else I thought might raise any red flags.

Would it be any punishment (like barred us) from advertisers IF we deleted all the paid post?

Next Google will penalize you if you run any ads other than Adsense on your site, nofollowed or not. Perhaps you’ll be penalized even if you mention them at all. You should remove any affiliate offers or competing ad systems like Adverlets or AdBrite and never mention them in a post again.
Adsense is the only Internet advertising program allowed by Google. Mooohhhaaaa!
