Google nukes PayPerPost
It’s been a depressing day for many Pay Per Post bloggers. Google released a nuke that devastated a huge number of blogs with PR 0 effectively rendering them useless for PPP income. One of the reasons cited over the net is that Google PR was initially created for internal use only. Google felt that it was abused by ad companies using it as metrics for how good or popular a blog is. The higher your PR the more money you can make from it. Selling links such as TLA and writing paid posts diluted the search engine algorithm. So it’s no surprise Google has taken this drastic action and reduced many (I suspect almost ALL) PayPerPost blogger.
This is sad because many of those that relied on PPP were mommy bloggers. For example PPP top earner is Colleen whose blog is Simple Kind of Life. She is a working mom and her blog did not escape the PR 0 bomb. So is our 5xmom. I think ALL her blogs have been nuked too.
Giving a PR 0 is equivalent to a job firing. So I guess all posties will have to look for another ‘job’ that does not require PR. How can you make money using a PR 0 website? I think that’s a very difficult task. Google Adsense ? You’d have to have heavy traffic in order to earn from Adsense. Top bloggers like Problogger and JohnChow don’t even use them!
Anyway, Izea is coming out with their new metrics for ranking PPP blogs but that will only come out next year. So in the meantime it looks like all PPP posties is out of the job ![]()

Heh, don’t forget I have over a dozen blogs that write paid posts. So, USD13K for losing PR is actually a worthy adventure. I cannot even sell my domain for USD13K. And remember that USD13K is only from PPP, I write for almost every network. Hehehe, hence I can still laugh.

I’m laffing too, cos i have made made lots of moolah from writing paidposts for a year. It was a year full of stressful non-stop blogging and also fun lah.

How can it be a worthy adventure? USD 13K wor..
Anyway I salute your positive attitude. Let’s hope PPP will roll out Real Rank next week as talked about in their PPP forum.

Typical monopolist behavior.
For example, in the 1880’s Standard Oil used its control of railways to prevent competing oil companies from delivering their oil to customers.
Google is doing the same thing, using their control of search to handicap advertising competitors, and they’re headed toward the same fate, US Federal Court fighting an anti-trust suit.

I already made the moolah, I didn’t lose a thing except the PR, which can easily be gained back and in the whole blogsphere, every gets the same thing. So, tell me what exactly did I lose?

You may not lose much now, maybe just the PR, but wait till G decides to deindex your site and drop all the backlinks.
What else did you lose? You lost the ability to pass on PR from your site to any new sites that you may build in the future.

There are new statement on IZEA blog, maybe you guys should read it up.

Yeah, I lost all my PR, except for 1 site =.=…
Frank is right, Google just wants to monopolize the market by giving you rubbish like ppl selling text links and stuff..
It’s like they created the PR system, and now are punishing you for something they have created…
I’d join their anti-trust suit… Google should probably be sued..

Hock, I hope you are not talking to me? ‘Cos if you do, you obviously do not read the whole thing and what remedial steps I am taking.
