It’s a hit and miss if you talk about Google Adsense’s accuracy when trying to match ads with your blog’s content. ( I read that’s how the Nuffnang idea started because of the inaccuracies)

It also depends on your niche I guess. In my chess blog, Google delivered almost 90% of ads related to chess which was good. The rest was on Malaysia related ads because I only blog about Malaysian Chess Events.

However on a multi-topic and general blog like this personal blog, getting matching ads is more of a problem. I’ve been experimenting with different Adsense formats and noticed this.

For my Klang Bak Kut Teh’s post, that Link units matched my blog articles better than the usual ad units. Take a look:-

Only the Klang Hotel ad is the closest.

So, perhaps for a personal blog that has a widespread of General topics it’s better to use Link ads. I’ll monitor to see which performs better.
