AIA website only supports IE
Being in the insurance software business for over 2 years I randomly browsed to all the local insurance website to see who had the highest PR. (ha ha.. I’m still obsessed with PR).
I was surprised to find www.AIA.com.my showing me this screen on my firefox browser:-

That was rude.
Must have some extra feature that is specific to IE only. Whatever it was I didn’t see it with my IE browser. Not to be bullied, I ‘forced’ my way in by bypassing the main page javascript and viewed the entire website using FireFox.
To tell you the truth, every paged loaded just fine and to my naked eyes I didn’t see any difference how the site looked in IE or FireFox.
Also, only the www.AIA.com.my worked. If you removed the www you get an invalid page. Of course this is an easy fix using some .htaccess rewrite rule (only one of the many methods).
It is surprising that they should stinge on a little extra money to have something as simple as cross-browser support and a 5 minute fix to support www or without www viewing of their site.
So far all the other local insurance website did not kick me out because I was using FireFox, which is still my favourite browser. Personally I still hate IE because I think it’s a spyware magnet.
Also, the majority of the local insurance websites are at PR3 only. Only a few were at PR4 and one PR6. I recommend they factor in traffic and popularity of website(Alexa, Google PR) as measurement of the their website success and effectiveness.
