It wasn’t easy what with the extra slow internet connection these past few days.

This blog was actually just one big blank white screen after some files failed to upload completely. The problem was compounded further when there was no clear error message indicated, so I did not even know which file to reupload.

The solution:
Forget about FTP. I used the CPanel web upload feature to upload the single .zip file. Thankfully CPanel also has an ‘extract’ feature so all the files could be unzipped at the server itself. I also used the same technique for my other blogs. It’s pretty fast and sure beats uploading hundreds of Wordpress files using FTP.

WP-cache with no symbolic link
Besides that I also successfully installed WP-Cache to my two more popular websites at GilaChess.com and chess.maribelajar.com. Previous attempts were unsuccessful as it needed a symbolic link to be created. This was not possible when you have no shell or telnet access on a shared webhosting account. Luckily someone came up with a simple workaround and now my two sites are cache enabled :)
