I have taught computer programming for more than 8 years. In that time, I calculate that I have taught over 1000 students. That’s a mind boggling number to me :)

Of course, the things I taught were just short courses on basic computer programming such as elementary Pascal, C, C++, COBOL, Java etc which typically took 3 months to complete. I got to see many new faces. With that many students, it’s inevitable I meet them in my daily routines. For example, in my current company I have met at least 10 ex-students. One of them was even my project manager. How awkward is that? Thankfully he has left for greener pastures. It’s embarassing to be under a person who was once your student!

Also, Teh Theng Heng who is one of the faces on MyBlogLog here is also one of my ex-student who I presume found this blog by chance.

But I like the fact that there is only 2 ex-students left as the others have jumped out of the boiling soup.

Hopefully they don’t end up in other boiling frog soups :)
